Bitcoin Falls On News Of Binance.com Receiving A Warning To Halt Operations In Japan Or Face Possibl
According to reports from media source Nikkei, Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA), will be warning Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, to halt all of it's operations in Japan or face possible criminal charges for operating in the country without having a license. Because they don't verify the exchanges users the FSA officials are concerned whether effective measures are in place to prevent money laundering. The CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao however stated on twitter: "Nikkei showed irresponsible journalism. We are in constructive dialogs with Japan FSA, and have not received any mandates. It does not make sense for JFSA to tell a newspaper before telling us, while we have an active dialog going on with them."
