RBC Royal Bank Bans Cryptocurrency Buying Using Interac - Debit Cards
As of May 15, RBC Royal Bank stopped allowing its customers to use their Interac Debit cards to buy cryptocurrency. This makes RBC the latest Canadian financial institution to make a move against digital currencies. Bank of Montreal and Toronto Dominion (TD Bank) also recently blocked their customers from buying digital currencies. While major banks are issuing bans on digital currency transactions, Canadian cryptocurrency investors are turning to other means to buy cryptocurrencies such as, peer to peer platform LocalBitcoins, which has seen a large increase in its trade activity.
