The Weekend Crypto Report
Bitcoin fell about 9% this week. Early in the week it had jumped above $6,850 but hit a lot of resistance and continued to drop from there the rest of the week until it hit about $6,150 where it found a good amount of support. Bitcoin is up 0.63% over the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $6,281.75 on Coinbase, which announced in a blog post last night that it was exploring the addition of ADA, BAT, XLM, ZEC, and ZRX. The prices of all 5 assets shot up on the news. BAT and ZRX increased the most, gaining about 25% and 15%. Many analysts are starting to be optimistic about the cryptocurrency markets citing technical analysis, increased regulations, increased transaction speeds (courtesy of the Lightning Network), and institutional money starting to enter the space. Tether (the stable coin tied to the dollar) moved up past IOTA to become the 9th largest coin by market cap size. The cryptocurrency markets are up 0.50% over the past 24 hours with the total market cap sitting around $250 billion.
